Newsletter Returns

After a four month absence, our newsletter is being published again.  Sue Welsch, the editor, was on an extended vacation.  She hopes to communicate frequently now that she has returned.

Selling Christmas Trees

Mike McCallum has agreed to be in charge of Christmas trees this year. He says that everything will be pretty much the same as last year. We will set up lot the day before thanksgiving and start manning the lot the day after thanksgiving until December 24, one shift on week days and all day on weekends. Each able member will be asked to take three shifts. Non-able members should participate in other ways.

Mike says that he will need help to set up and tear down the lot and to unload the Christmas trees.  All members need to help to make this successful. The sign-up sheet will be available in November.

Rotary Foundation Dinner

The dinner is hosted by the Tahoe City club this year and will be at Granlibakken on November 3.  A sign-up sheet is being circulated at meetings.  Reservations are due by this Friday and your bill will be charges $40 per person for those attending.  Please confirm to Diane Morrison at diane@daileymorrison.com, or 831-7100. Please try to attend and support our district foundation.  The keynote speaker is Candace Cable, executive director of Turning Point Tahoe, a very special local athlete.

Christmas Party

Our Christmas party will be held with Incline Village Rotary and will be on December 17 at Sierra Nevada College.  Please put it on your calendar.

Sunshine

We have had a number of surgeries and illnesses in our club lately.  Please send good wishes to Al Sperry, who is fighting cancer, Ted Fuller, who had back surgery, Sandra Richards, who had rotator cuff surgery, and Ginny Yates, who had several knee surgeries.

Membership

Several of our members have requested a leave of absence and we hope that they will be back soon.  Meanwhile, the board would like to see the membership increase, so be on the lookout for new quality members.

The PDF file of a new member proposal form is on our Tahoe Incline website, www.tahoeinclinerotary.org.  After a proposed member has attended at least three meetings, please complete this form and turn it in to John Paganelli.

Makeups

Members can make up any missed meeting within two weeks before or after a miss.  Please email Marianne Ericsson at ericsson775@hotmail.com.
