Meeting on April 16

Toni Neubauer spoke to us about all of the good work that she is doing in Asia and about her adventure tour agency, Myths and Mountains.  Her slides were wonderful.

Meeting on April 30

Our past president, Bob Ellsworth, gave a very inspirational talk about business ethics using the Rotary four way test.  He referred to a book called Defining Moments, and highly recommended that anybody in business should read this book.  He uses it as a textbook for his Gaming classes at the University of Nevada.

Meeting on May 7

Today, we heard from Dr. Geoffrey Schadow, from U.C. Davis, who works at the Tahoe Environmental Research Center.  He described their two offices and boat. One office is in Tahoe City at the old fish hatchery, and one on the campus of Sierra Nevada College.  He gave an update of the state of the lake.

A Message from Wend

Chad and Allison were our speakers last month. They discussed their recent bike trip across Asia and their upcoming bike trip across Eurasia.  If you are interested in following them, here is the website: http://www.travelblog.org/bloggers/Bike-Tour-Eurasia. You can sign on or not, but I know that many of you will be interested. Chad and Allison are now on this trip and will speak again when they return next winter.

A Message from Gary Lee

Attending weekly meetings holds the club together, and is a great indicator of how well our club is functioning.  The following members should be proud that their attendance, including makeups, is above 90% for the year.  These members help make our club work.

Randy A, Ellen C, Mike C, Marianne E, Dennis J, Gary L, Bob M, Bruce M, Mike M, Steve M, Geno M, Diane M, Shawn N, Barbara R, Thalia R, Bob S, Wend S, Sue W, and Ginny Y.

Thanks to all those who continue to support our club through attending weekly.

Rotary Work Day

Rotarians at Work Day Will be held on May 30 starting at 9:00 AM.  Sign up starting next week.  Spouses and friends are welcome to join us.  No experience is necessary.  Come out and let's make our community even more beautiful.

Membership

Several of our members have requested a leave of absence and we hope that they will be back soon.  Meanwhile, the board would like to see the membership increase, so be on the lookout for new quality members.

The PDF file of a new member proposal form is on our Tahoe Incline website, www.tahoeinclinerotary.org.  After a proposed member has attended at least three meetings, please complete this form and turn it in to John Paganelli.

Members can make up any missed meeting within two weeks before or after a miss.  Please email Marianne Ericsson at ericsson775@hotmail.com.
