Philippines Update After 2013 Typhoon

PHILIPPINES TYPHOON UPDATE

Club member, Maureen McCarthy, visited the Philippines to check on the Club's international project involving mangrove reforestation. Her visit coincided with landfall of Typhoon Haiyan, called "Yolanda" in the Philippines, which was one of the strongest storms on record. Maureen reported by email on November 9, 2013: "I'm OK and headed home today, but our village was hit hard. Waiting for damage assessments for our colleagues in RCBN."
